Intact & weighty salvaged tartan & wood wall shield / plaque - great for the lodge!
A shapely wooden shield/plaque with a tartan wool fabric applied with nail head
detailing and a bagpiper figure standing up front, on a wood support/stand.
The words ‘Ancient Hunting Cameron’ across the top, indicate that this is the hunting
variation of the vivid red ‘Cameron’ plaid.
Hunting plaids were created in earthier natural colours than their original versions so clansmen could blend in with their environment while hunting for food.
This piece would be wonderful amongst other collected artwork and finds and is a definite piece of authentic Scottish history!
