Otto Planding (1887 - 1964) was born in Germany in 1887 and he studied at the Munich Academy of Art before immigrating to Canada in 1912 and was an active artist in Canada for most of his life painting mostly in Northern Ontario
Known today as a prominent painter who captured the beauty of the northern countryside.
The Muskokas, Georgian Bay, The Rockies were some of his favourite areas to paint.
