This painting was originally by French painter Nicolas Lancret; painted in 1738
Oil on Canvas of a romantic pastoral scene… entitled; ‘L’Ete’ or ‘Summer’
This is a beautiful little vintage reproduction by ‘Fiehl’ | Estate sale find!
Fiehl became well known for hand painted re-creations of original oil paintings & as such today they hold value themselves.
’A printed stretched canvas which is painted by hand like the original painting -
known as embellishment…
Fiehl reproductions are of the highest quality. Produced using a secret image transfer
system & then over painted in oils by hand by Academy of Arts artists…
Masterpeices were copied right down to the brush strokes of the original painter -
this was known as ‘the Fiehl process’!
Back stamp | ‘A Genuine ‘FIEHL’ Reproduction / Made in England
