ANTIQUE VICTORIAN FLUE COVER | REVERSE PAINTED GLASS & PRINT | C 1890
This is a charming scenic Victorian ‘flue’ or chimney cover which would have been used in the summer to cover the round hole in the wall where the stove pipe would be in the
winter.
These were typically a round piece of glass containing an elaborate print, in this case of a well dressed courting couple on a footbridge with a round metal surround and a graphic
reverse painted often black matte… has a lovely metal chain link hanger with a loop
PERFECT for our modern day gallery wall… so great to mix things up & include a unique shape!!
